Spotlight on Sherlock's

There's no shortage of former frat boys at Sherlock's Pub on West Gray.

Men in their 20s and 30s can be found sharing pitchers of beer and staring up at the bar's many TV screens. Basketball banners and beer mirrors decorate the exposed-brick walls, while foosball and pool tables provide distraction during breaks in the action.

This British-inspired pub is a hot spot for guys who want to hang out and cheer on the home teams.

But don't dismiss Sherlock's as just a sports bar. It's also a live-music venue that attracts plenty of women to its dance floor. The pub books a diverse lineup of local bands, from bluesy Hamilton Loomis and funky Slop Jar Junior to rockers like Sonoma.

For those who prefer to take in their music sitting down, there are dozens of high-top tables.

Sherlock's also accommodates conversation in a cozy setting. The lounge area features a panoramic view of West Gray and leather wing chairs that are perfect for sitting back and smoking a cigar.

Great service keeps patrons returning. Long lines are rarely a problem with two full-service bars and plenty of bartenders. Waitresses consistently make their rounds around the pub. Most important, the service doesn't fall apart on packed Friday and Saturday nights.
